Foreigners are advised to travel only through authorized Immigration Check Post (ICP). Ensure your passports are stamped by Immigration authorities.
Foreigners require valid passport and visa (including Transit Visa, as applicable) for the destination country unless exempted.
When Exit Permit required:
Those issued with One-Time Travel Documents or Lassiez Passer.
Those who have overstayed their stay stipulation or Visa validity period.
For inter-country/other adoptions of a child.
In case a foreign national who arrived in India with an Indian visa and subsequently gets an OCI card issued from Indian Embassy abroad based on his earlier application, the same OCI card cannot be used for departure from India. He should depart from India either within visa validity or obtain exit permit from jurisdictional FRRO. However, if the OCI card is issued in India from any FRRO, he can continue his stay and depart from India at his choice on the strength of newly issued OCI card.
