Health Regulation

  • Any person arriving from or Transiting from a Yellow fever endemic area/country by Air/Sea has to be in possession of a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate as per the prescribed norms laid down by WHO.

  • Foreigners or Indians (excluding infants below six months) arriving by air or sea without a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate will be kept in quarantine for a period up to 6 daysif they have visited or transited from a Yellow Fever endemic area.

  • There is no health check requirement for leaving India to Yellow Fever endemic countries, however passengers are advised in their own interest to get themselves vaccinated and to be in possession of valid yellow fever vaccination certificates before they leave the country.

  • Generally Indian Missions issues visas to Foreign nationals applying from Yellow fever endemic countries only after the production of a valid vaccination certificate of Yellow Fever and an endorsement “Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate Checked” is made on the visa of the foreigner.

Africa (30 Countries):

Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d' Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau,  Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda.

South America (13 Countries):

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad (Trinidad only), Venezuela, Panama, Paraguay, Peru.
