Call Center Scams

Indian nationals are being lured by travel agents with false promises of lucrative job opportunities in marketing and administrative roles at major casinos in certain South East Asian countries. These agents offer high salaries and paid accommodation. Recent trends show that upon arrival they are tricked into working for call centres engaged in crypto related scams, fraud investment schemes and are engaged in cyber crime activities in those countries. Hence it is advised to observe due caution regarding this trend.

Employment in ECR countries without obtaining POE

Indian nationals holding ECR passports travelling to ECR countries on non-work Visas without POE certificate are advised to not take up Employment in ECR countries as they may be subjected to harsh work environment and are vulnerable to exploitation without any legal protection or recourse. Instances of travelling to a third country on tourist visa and further migrating to ECR Countries is observed as a trend to bypass the POE Certificates which results in exploitation of those ECR Passport holders in work environments.

Illegal migration to Western Europe

Indian nationals are advised not to be lured by travel agents offering opportunity for illegal migration to Western European countries via third country; As They may face exploitation, human trafficking and often seen forced to work in harsh work environments without any legal recourse. Further, they are also open to prosecution from the host country for their illegal entry/stay. Travellers are advised to verify the documents with care.
